These terms cover your use of TravelMontage. They are written to be read — plain sentences, no defined-term thicket — and the summary above is an honest précis of what follows rather than marketing. See also the Privacy Policy. Questions go to aditya130805@gmail.com.
Agreement
These terms are between you and Aditya Agarwal, an individual developer operating TravelMontage (“the Service”, “I”, “me”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement and describes what the Service does with your data.
Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian. You must not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under the laws that apply to you.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in secure. Tell me promptly at aditya130805@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to it.
Your photos remain yours
You keep every right you already had in the photos, notes, and titles you upload. Nothing here transfers ownership of your content to me.
To operate the Service, you grant me a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize, re-encode, analyse, and display your content — and to transmit it to the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy, including sending downscaled copies of selected photos to an AI model to generate captions. This licence exists only so the Service can do the thing you asked it to do. It ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in routine backups that age out on their own.
I will not use your photos to train AI models, and I will not sell them, license them onward, or use them in marketing.
What you promise about what you upload
By uploading content, you confirm that:
- You own it or otherwise have the rights needed to upload it and to let the Service process it as described.
- It does not infringe anyone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
- It is not unlawful, and does not depict the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors. Any account found to contain such material will be terminated and reported to the appropriate authorities.
- If it shows other identifiable people, you have whatever permission is required where you and they are — worth a thought before you create a share link.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Attempt to access another user’s account, trips, or files, or probe for ways to do so.
- Automate, script, or otherwise drive the Service in ways that run up storage, bandwidth, or AI costs beyond ordinary personal use.
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to disable the Service or the infrastructure it runs on.
- Reverse engineer or circumvent access controls, rate limits, or usage limits.
- Resell, sublicense, or offer the Service to third parties as your own.
Reasonable limits apply to uploads, story rebuilds, and AI generation — including a cap on new stories per day and one story building at a time — and I may adjust them to keep the Service affordable to run.
Captions are generated by a machine
Captions, place labels, dates, distances, and narration are produced automatically from your photos and their metadata. They are frequently evocative and sometimes simply wrong: a place can be misidentified, a date misread from a file whose timestamp was rewritten by an export, a caption can describe something that is not in the picture.
Treat the output as a draft about your own trip, not as a record of fact. You are free to edit titles, locations, and notes, and to leave feedback on a caption. Do not rely on generated output for any purpose where being wrong would matter.
Sharing
Creating a share link makes that story readable by anyone who has the link, without signing in. You decide whether to create one and can revoke it at any time. As the Privacy Policy explains, revoking a link does not retract image files that someone already saved the direct address for; deleting the trip removes the files themselves.
You are responsible for who you send a link to and for what your story contains when you share it.
Availability
TravelMontage is an independent project under active development, offered free of charge. There is no uptime commitment. Features may change or be removed, processing may fail or queue behind other work, and the Service may be unavailable for maintenance or because an upstream provider is down.
Please keep your own copies of your photos. The Service is a way to see them as a story, not a backup of them.
Ending it
You can stop using the Service at any time, delete individual trips from your library, or delete your account outright from your settings.
I may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or that is consuming resources in a way that threatens the Service for everyone else. Where circumstances allow, I will give notice and a chance to export your content first.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. I do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that generated captions will be accurate.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or lost photos, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service — even if I have been advised of the possibility.
My total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid me in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free service, is nothing) or fifty US dollars.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from content you uploaded or shared, or from your breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the Service does. The date at the top changes when they do, and for material changes I will make a reasonable effort to notify account holders. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in California will have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to venue there — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where that law gives it to you.
Before filing anything, please email me. Most problems are faster to fix than to litigate.
Miscellaneous
If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this agreement without my consent; I may assign it in connection with a transfer of the Service, on notice to you. Together with the Privacy Policy, these terms are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
